Sokoto State Passes Out 1,550 Marshals for Security

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State reaffirmed his administration's commitment to security and youth empowerment during the passing-out parade of 1,550 Sokoto Marshals. The event, attended by Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as the Special Guest of Honour, showcased the recruitment of marshals from all 23 Local Government Areas of Sokoto.

This initiative is part of Aliyu's youth empowerment agenda and aims to complement conventional security efforts. The recruits underwent training in Security and Intelligence, Traffic Management, Environmental Protection, and Protection of Government Infrastructure.

The Sokoto Marshals initiative, originally introduced by Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, was revived by Aliyu to provide employment opportunities while enhancing the state's security framework. The marshals will be deployed to various strategic locations to support intelligence gathering and public safety.

Notably, this recruitment included female marshals for the first time, emphasizing gender inclusion in public service. Aliyu assured continued support for the marshals with necessary logistics for effective service delivery.
