Sokoto State Graduates 1,550 Security Personnel

The Sokoto State Government has graduated 1,550 operatives from the Sokoto State Marshal Agency (SOSMA) to strengthen the security of lives and property in the state. The graduation ceremony took place at Giginya Memorial Stadium and was attended by dignitaries including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who served as the Special Guest of Honour, Sultan of Sokoto Alhajj Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

The new Marshals are categorized into environmental, security and intelligence, traffic management, and public infrastructure guards. Governor Oyebanji praised Senator Wamakko as a respected leader and commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his commitment to security.

He expressed hope that the new Marshals would support conventional security agencies in enhancing safety. Governor Ahmed Aliyu promised to provide necessary equipment for the Marshals and emphasized collaboration with existing security forces.

He acknowledged the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in efforts to protect citizens and improve their well-being.
