Sokoto State Graduates 1,550 Marshals, First Female Cadets

The Sokoto State Government has officially graduated 1,550 operatives from the Sokoto State Marshals Agency (SOSMA), marking a significant advancement in community-based security efforts. This graduation, held in the state capital, is historic as it includes the first set of female operatives, totaling 70 women.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Ekiti State Governor Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, and the Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt.

Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga.

The newly graduated marshals received training in four specialized areas: environmental enforcement, security and intelligence, traffic management, and protection of public infrastructure. Governor Oyebanji praised the initiative as a reflection of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto's commitment to peace and unity, aligning with national security efforts led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Governor Aliyu assured that the marshals would be equipped with necessary logistics and deployed across all 23 local government areas to collaborate with existing security formations.
