Biodun Oyebanji Dissolves Cabinet Before Second Term

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has approved the immediate dissolution of all boards, commissions, and parastatals, along with the termination of appointments for all political appointees, including Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, and Technical Assistants. This decision precedes his inauguration for a second term on October 16, following his victory in the June 20 governorship election.

Yinka Oyebode, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, announced that this move is part of winding down Oyebanji's first term. However, the dissolution does not impact chairmen and members of certain statutory boards and commissions, including the State Independent Electoral Commission, Civil Service Commission, House of Assembly Service Commission, and Judicial Service Commission.

The governing councils of state-owned tertiary institutions and key officials such as the chairmen of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Local Government Service Commission, and Teaching Service Commission will remain in office. Oyebanji expressed gratitude to the affected appointees for their contributions to his administration.
