INEC Accused of Facilitating 400,000 PVCs for APC

The Democrat Integr Forum (DIF), a pro-democracy group, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of facilitating the distribution of approximately 400,000 uncollected Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State. This allegation was made during a statement released on Monday in Abuja, signed by the national coordinator, Barrister Godwin Omini.

The group expressed serious concerns regarding INEC's impartiality and its ability to conduct free and fair elections, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections. They highlighted that the alleged collusion between INEC officials and the APC undermines the electoral process and erodes public confidence in Nigeria's electoral system.

The group called for an immediate investigation into these allegations and demanded a thorough audit of voter data access and PVC distribution in Ekiti State. They emphasized the need for INEC to strengthen data protection protocols to prevent unauthorized access and ensure transparency in the electoral process.
