INEC Opens Recruitment for Ekiti Governorship Election Staff

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the opening of an online portal for the recruitment of ad-hoc staff in preparation for the Ekiti State governorship election, which is scheduled for June 20, 2026. The announcement was made on Sunday, with the application process commencing on April 25, 2026, and closing on May 18, 2026.

Positions available include supervisory roles, presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, and registration area coordinators. INEC has specified eligibility criteria for applicants, including that they must not be public civil servants at grade levels 10 to 14, nor engaged in duties at those levels.

Additionally, applicants must not be members of any political party and should not demonstrate support for any candidates. This recruitment drive is part of INEC's preparations for the upcoming election, where the incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress, is seeking re-election.
