Fayemi Praises Seamless Voting in Ekiti Governorship Election

On Saturday, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the former governor of Ekiti State, commended the smooth conduct of the governorship election, describing the accreditation and voting process as seamless and efficient.

Fayemi cast his vote alongside his wife, Bisi Fayemi, at Poll Unit 09, Ward 11 in Isan Ekiti, Oye Local Government Area. He praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a hitch-free exercise and noted significant improvements in electoral administration.

Despite a security incident that resulted in a fatal fire at a police station the previous night, Fayemi urged residents to maintain peace and not let such incidents disrupt the electoral process. He clarified that the incident involved two individuals and was not politically motivated.

Fayemi also mentioned that security authorities are conducting a thorough investigation. Former Senator Ayo Arise expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning the election, although he observed that voter turnout appeared average compared to previous elections.
