Sanwo-Olu Announces National Intermediate Games in October

The National Intermediate Games are set to take place from October 1 to 15, featuring between 14,000 and 15,000 athletes. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described the Games as a landmark opportunity to enhance grassroots sports development and create pathways for emerging athletes.

During an inspection of ongoing rehabilitation works at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, a primary venue for the competition, Sanwo-Olu stated the importance of nurturing young talent before they leave the country. He expressed confidence that the stadium and other venues would meet the necessary standards before the event's kickoff.

The governor highlighted that hosting the National Intermediate Games would accelerate infrastructure upgrades in the state and contribute to building a sustainable structure for retaining promising athletes in Nigeria.
