Maku Alleges Ballot Snatching in Nasarawa North Election

Labaran Maku, a former minister, alleged that ballot snatching occurred during the Nasarawa North by-election, citing various electoral malpractices. He reported issues such as malfunctioning biometric voter authentication (BVA) systems, which failed to capture fingerprints, leading to concerns about the integrity of the voting process.

Maku noted incidents of multiple printed ballot papers and ballot snatching at locations like Alushi Watch School. He claimed that politicians were involved in these irregularities, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a transparent electoral process.

Meanwhile, Halilu Danladi, a candidate from the Progressives Congress, expressed confidence in the electoral process, highlighting a positive voter turnout in Nasarawa Eggon. He commended INEC for its preparations, stating that the voting process was hitch-free and that there were no complaints from polling units.

Maku called for peace and urged voters to remain calm amidst the reported irregularities.
