Ivory Coast Faces Algeria in WAFCON Quarterfinal Clash

Ivory Coast's National Women's Football Team, coached by Reynold Pedros, is set to compete against Algeria in the quarterfinals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Saturday in Casablanca. This marks Ivory Coast's return to WAFCON for the first time since 2014, having topped Group B with a 2-1 victory over Tanzania at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium.

Safi Ouedraogo scored the opening goal in the 44th minute after a defensive error by Tanzania, marking her second goal of the tournament following a previous strike in a 4-1 win against Burkina Faso. Inès Konan secured the second goal from the penalty spot in the 68th minute after Ouedraogo was fouled.

Tanzania's only response came through a stoppage-time penalty by Diana Msewa. Ivory Coast's dynamic playing style has made them a team to watch, although they enter the quarterfinals as underdogs against a well-rounded Algerian side.
