Infantino Apologizes for World Cup Investment Plans

FIFA President Gianni Infantino issued an apology for the controversial plan to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors, acknowledging it as a mistake. This apology was communicated in a letter sent late Wednesday, signed by Infantino and FIFA's General Secretary Mattias Grafström, to all member associations.

The letter expressed full support for Infantino from the Executive Board, which consists of representatives from FIFA’s 211 member associations. Infantino stated that FIFA would not tolerate any attacks on its integrity and governance, emphasizing the need to protect its name and reputation.
