Katsina Governor Radda Urges Bandits to Embrace Peace

Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda has urged bandits operating in the state to embrace dialogue and lay down their weapons in the interest of peace and development. He expressed that the government remains open to discussions, encouraging bandits to abandon kidnapping and criminal activities.

Radda made these statements during a visit to 152 internally displaced persons' houses in Jibia on Thursday. He highlighted a collaborative effort with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to provide durable solutions for victims of banditry in the state.

The governor called on marauding bandits to denounce their actions and return to their families and communities, emphasizing that the government would provide opportunities for reintegration. He appealed to bandits to choose peace over violence, stating that the path of dialogue and reintegration remains open, and urged them to consider the future of their children and communities instead of continuing the cycle of violence.
