APC Chieftain Urges President Tinubu to Enforce Drug Price Reduction Order

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, urged President Bola Tinubu to enforce the executive order aimed at reducing drug prices in Nigeria. Despite the order issued in June 2024 to alleviate the financial burden on patients, many essential drugs remain highly priced, impacting accessibility.

Oyintiloye highlighted the persistent high costs of critical medications like insulin and called for stringent enforcement to ensure compliance by manufacturers and distributors. The failure to effectively implement the order has led to continued challenges in accessing affordable healthcare, emphasizing the need for urgent action to address the pricing disparities.
