England and Wales Withdraw Support for Infantino's Re-election

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) and the English Football Association (FA) have officially withdrawn their support for Gianni Infantino's bid for re-election as FIFA president. This decision follows concerns regarding Infantino's leadership, particularly after the collapse of a controversial proposal to create FIFA Football Enterprises (FFE), which aimed to allow private investors to acquire stakes in the FIFA World Cup's commercial rights.

The proposal faced significant backlash from UEFA, various national football associations, and leading clubs, who criticized its lack of transparency and potential to harm the sport's long-term interests. Infantino abandoned the proposal after failing to gain support from key stakeholders.
