Enugu Journalists Tour Governor Mbah's Infrastructure Projects

On August 17, members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu State Council, conducted a facility tour of Governor Peter Mbah's legacy projects, focusing on the dualisation of the Abakpa Nike–Opi–Nsukka Road. The Permanent Secretary, Engr. Anyaorah Okereke, detailed that the project includes a bypass intended to reduce travel distance by five kilometres and enhance road safety by improving visibility for motorists.

The tour also included the inspection of a new dual-carriageway express road spanning over 38 kilometres, connecting various communities in Enugu State and facilitating travel from Cross River and Ebonyi states to the northern region without passing through Enugu metropolis. Additionally, the correspondents observed agricultural developments, including a ranch for livestock and a partnership with Notra Tractors Assembly Plant, which has provided over 150 tractors for hire to farmers at a reduced cost.

The state government is also recruiting 200 unemployed youths for training in tractor operations.
