Enugu State Approves Major Infrastructure and Tourism Projects

The Enugu State Government has approved a series of infrastructural and tourism projects aimed at enhancing the state's economy. During a state executive council meeting, the government approved the completion of the upgrade of the C and D wings of the Enugu State Secretariat complex, which has faced challenges since the completion of Wing B in May 2015.

The council also approved the construction of 1,000 fully detached terrace housing units and an additional 1,000 housing units to address the housing deficit in the state. Furthermore, a 10.5 km road project in Igogoro, Amachara, Ikpamodo, and Okpo Amaada was approved, alongside repairs to flood-damaged roads in Nsukka.

In tourism, three major projects were greenlit: the Ovu Lake Golf Resort, which will feature an 18-hole championship golf course and a luxury hotel, the Attakwu tourism development project, and the Okpatu Awhum cable car project, which will span approximately 5.32 kilometers.
