Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, praised President Bola Tinubu for fulfilling long-standing electoral promises by completing the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway project. The expressway is scheduled to reopen on March 31, 2026, after being a source of peril for road users in the Southeast for over twenty years.

Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Deputy President General of Ohanaeze, and Chief Chineyeze Ohia, the organization's spokesperson, expressed their enthusiasm for this development, highlighting its potential to reshape political dynamics in favor of Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections. They also made a cordial yet urgent request for additional funding to expedite the completion of ongoing federal road projects across the Southeast, including the Markudi-Nsukka and Enugu-Calabar highways.
