Troops Foil IPOB Ambush Attack in Enugu State

Olabisi Ayeni, successfully foiled an ambush attack by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Imezi Owa, Ezeagu Local Government Area, Enugu State. The operation was part of a patrol mission led by the troops, who collaborated with security agencies to track the terrorists.

During the encounter, three personnel sustained injuries and were promptly evacuated for medical treatment. The military spokesman confirmed that the troops maintained operational dominance despite the attack.

An improvised explosive device hidden in a terrorist hideout detonated, causing a fire that destroyed the location. A subsequent search revealed an improvised hand grenade and a shrine used for ritual activities, which were also destroyed to prevent further criminal use.
