Chelsea has informed Fernández's camp that the £120 million verbal exit clause is "now off the table." Consequently, any clubs interested in signing Fernández will need to negotiate directly with Chelsea rather than relying on the previously discussed figure.

Fernández joined Chelsea from Benfica in January 2023 and has become an integral part of the squad, continuing to feature prominently for the club.
