Chelsea Confirms Enzo Fernandez Not for Sale This Summer

Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso stated that the club is pleased with midfielder Enzo Fernandez amid speculation regarding his future. Fernandez, a 25-year-old Argentina international, has been linked with a transfer to Manchester City.

However, Chelsea has informed Fernandez's camp that he is not for sale following the closure of the formal bid deadline on 14 August. Speaking before Chelsea's Premier League opener against Fulham, Alonso affirmed, “Enzo is a Chelsea player.

We are happy with him and he’s getting ready for Monday.” Alonso praised Fernandez's attitude since returning to the squad after the World Cup, noting his good integration and training performance. Despite mixed reactions from Chelsea supporters during pre-season, the club demonstrated confidence in Fernandez by assigning him the captain's armband in a friendly against Real Sociedad.

With the transfer window closing on 1 September, Alonso's comments indicate that Chelsea is preparing for Fernandez to remain part of their plans.
