Tielemans Apologizes to Villa Fans Over United Comments

Youri Tielemans, a midfielder who recently joined Manchester United from Aston Villa, issued an apology to Aston Villa fans following comments he made that suggested Manchester United is a bigger club. Tielemans praised Aston Villa for helping him regain his best form but stated, “There are clubs above Villa, and Manchester United is one of them.” This statement drew criticism from some Villa supporters, prompting him to clarify his intentions on Instagram.

He stated, “Never meant for my words in the press yesterday to offend anyone or the institution of Aston Villa Football Club, which I massively respect and I’m grateful for the past three years.” Tielemans admitted his mistake and promised to be more careful with his words in the future. He spent three years at Aston Villa, making 134 appearances and scoring 10 goals.

His apology comes as both clubs prepare for their final pre-season fixtures ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
