Youri Tielemans Joins Manchester United for £35 Million

Youri Tielemans has officially signed with Manchester United from Aston Villa in a deal valued at £35 million, securing a five-year contract. The 29-year-old midfielder, who helped Belgium reach the World Cup quarter-finals, expressed pride in joining Manchester United, a club he describes as special.

Tielemans will don the number 18 shirt, which was vacated by Casemiro after his contract expired at the end of the previous season. He has spent the last three seasons at Aston Villa after moving from Leicester City in 2019.

Tielemans has played 668 games for club and country, scoring 79 goals. Last season, he faced injury challenges, limiting him to 35 competitive appearances, the lowest in his career.

His notable achievements include scoring the winning goal for Leicester City in the 2021 FA Cup final. Manchester United's director of football, Jason Wilcox, praised Tielemans for his outstanding qualities and leadership skills, which will enhance the squad's composure and creativity.
