Christian Eriksen Collapses During Denmark-Ukraine Friendly

Christian Eriksen, a 34-year-old midfielder, collapsed during a friendly match between Denmark and Ukraine in Odense. The incident occurred in the 65th minute, leading to the game's abandonment.

Eriksen, who has an implanted cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) following a previous collapse during a match against Finland in 2021, was attended to by Denmark's national team doctor, Morten Boesen. Eriksen briefly lost consciousness but quickly regained it and was able to walk off the pitch.

He will undergo further examination in the hospital to determine the cause of the incident. Eriksen has had a notable career, having played for Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, and currently plays for Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga, where he is contracted until the 2025-26 season.

This incident marks his 151st appearance for the Danish national team.
