Etsu Nupe Celebrates IBB's 85th Birthday Contributions

On the occasion of Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida's 85th birthday, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, extended his congratulations, recognizing Babangida as a distinguished Nigerian whose service has greatly impacted the nation. In a message delivered on Monday, Abubakar, a retired Brigadier-General of the Nigerian Army, commended Babangida's military and political career, noting that his leadership occurred during a pivotal time in Nigeria's history marked by various challenges.

He acknowledged the importance of Babangida's contributions, including the establishment of key institutions such as the NDLEA, NAFDAC, FRSC, NDIC, and NDE, which continue to play vital roles in national development. Abubakar emphasized the need for younger Nigerians to learn from the historical experiences of past leaders, urging a balanced assessment of their legacies.
