Fubara Loyalists Reject APC Screening Results in Rivers

Loyalists of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara have vehemently rejected the recent screening results released by the Rivers APC for the 2027 House of Assembly primaries, claiming the process was rigged. The screening, led by Ajibola Muraina, disqualified a significant number of aspirants, raising suspicions of a pre-planned agenda to favor candidates aligned with former Governor Nyesom Wike.

High-profile figures in Fubara's camp, including Victor Oko and Jumbo Sokari, expressed outrage over the disqualifications, which they argue were unjustified. The committee cited various technical reasons for disqualifications, such as issues with voter cards and unpaid dues.

Additionally, allegations surfaced regarding attempts to bribe committee members. The situation escalated when Tanko Yamowa, the committee's secretary, issued a disclaimer distancing himself from the results, further fueling claims of a biased process.

The disqualifications have deepened divisions within the APC in Rivers State, raising concerns ahead of the 2027 elections.
