Ex-Adamawa Speaker Mijinyawa Joins APM from APC

Mijinyawa, who served as Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly under Former Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), led by Abdulrahman Bashir Haske. In a letter dated September 12, 2026, addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Adarawo in Yola South Local Government Area, Mijinyawa expressed his concerns regarding the recent APC primary election in his constituency, stating that the process lacked fairness, transparency, and credibility.

He emphasized that this decision was not made lightly, as he values democratic principles, justice, and accountability. Mijinyawa's shift to the APM represents a significant change in the political landscape of Yola South, where he currently represents the constituency in the State House of Assembly.
