Adamu Garba Withdraws from Politics to Focus on Business

Adamu Garba, a former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), announced his withdrawal from active political participation in a statement posted on his X handle on Tuesday. He stated that he would focus exclusively on his responsibilities as Executive Chairman of IPI Group Limited and Chief Platform Architect of the Group and its subsidiaries.

Garba's decision followed “careful reflection” and was influenced by the demands of his business, which requires his “sustained personal attention, technical depth, and a presence that cannot be delegated.” He expressed gratitude for the support he received during his nine-year political journey, which included his candidacy in the 2019 presidential race and his continued aspirations for the 2023 elections. Garba had previously withdrawn from the APC contest in 2022 due to the high cost of nomination forms, which were set at N100 million, and concerns about the commercialization of politics.

His campaign had raised approximately N83.2 million in donations, which he pledged to return.
