David Warner Charged with Drink-Driving in Sydney

David Warner, a former Australian cricketer, was charged with drink-driving by the New South Wales Police after being arrested on Sunday. The 39-year-old was stopped in Maroubra, Sydney, where he underwent a random breath test that returned a positive result.

Following this, he was taken to the Maroubra police station, where a second test indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.104, exceeding the legal limit of 0.08 in New South Wales. Warner has been charged with mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol and is scheduled to appear in court on May 7.

Warner, who has announced his retirement from international cricket in 2024, is currently the captain of the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League, with their next match against Peshawar Zalmi on April 9.
