Petinrin Praises DSS for Successful Kidnap Rescue in Oyo

Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin, a former Chief of Defence Staff, commended the Department of State Services (DSS) for successfully rescuing kidnapped pupils and teachers from a school in Oriire, Oyo State. In a statement he signed, Petinrin highlighted the critical role of intelligence in military operations, asserting that the intelligence provided by the DSS was instrumental in the rescue.

He expressed his admiration for the DSS's conduct throughout the operation, noting that while others received praise, the key DSS operatives remained unrecognized. Petinrin revealed that the release of the victims was attributed to the kidnappers' decision, influenced by the arrest of their family members, rather than any military action.

He underscored the DSS's capability to leverage intelligence about the kidnappers' relatives to turn the situation in favor of the victims.
