Mustapha Bala Dawaki Defects to NDC After APC Loss

Mustapha Bala Dawaki, who previously served as the Chief of Staff to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially defected to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) following his loss of the APC ticket for the 2027 elections. This development was confirmed by Saifullahi Hassan, a media assistant to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the leader of the NDC and the Kwankwasiyya movement.

Dawaki, a former member of the House of Representatives from Kano State, made this transition just a week after the APC's consensus decision regarding the ticket. The announcement of his defection was made on Monday, and it was noted that the NDC is currently working to reach an agreement on candidate selection for various electoral posts in Kano State.

However, it remains uncertain whether Dawaki will automatically receive a ticket to run for a position within the NDC.
