PDP's Akinaka Critiques Leadership Vacuum in Bayelsa

Richard Akinaka, a prominent chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and a businessman, expressed concerns over the leadership vacuum in Bayelsa State, emphasizing the urgent need for effective leadership. During a PDP membership revalidation exercise in Yenagoa, Akinaka pledged to help the party reclaim control of the state in the upcoming 2028 governorship elections.

He asserted that despite perceptions of decline, the PDP remains the political home for the Ijaw people. Akinaka's remarks were made in the presence of the state chairman of the PDP, Georg Turnah, who highlighted the importance of electing individuals of integrity committed to serving the people.

Turnah welcomed Akinaka back to the PDP and noted the significant turnout at the event, indicating a reconnection with the populace. He expressed confidence that the PDP would field credible candidates for future elections, ensuring that grassroots leaders represent the party effectively.
