Jim Nwobodo Denies Wife's Involvement in Demolition Case

Jim Nwobodo, the former governor of Enugu State, has publicly denied claims that his wife, Pat Nwobodo, was involved in the demolition of property belonging to Pastor Basil Ogbuanu. The allegations arose after Ogbuanu's property was demolished, which Nwobodo attributed to unauthorized building activities that breached state regulations.

The situation escalated on January 16 when Pat Nwobodo visited the estate for a routine inspection, leading to a confrontation with police, who allegedly prevented her from leaving the premises. Following this incident, Ogbuanu attempted to travel to Lagos but was apprehended by police and later arraigned in court on charges related to illegal construction.

Nwobodo expressed disappointment over the accusations against his wife, emphasizing that she acted in good faith to resolve estate management issues. He also noted that Ogbuanu had ignored several government directives to halt unauthorized activities, which raised concerns among residents.

The property in question was reportedly worth millions of naira.
