Yusuf Tuggar Declares for Bauchi Governorship Race 2027

Yusuf Tuggar, the immediate past Minister of Foreign Affairs, has announced his candidacy for the governorship of Bauchi State in the upcoming 2027 elections. He officially declared his intention over the weekend, following his resignation from the ministerial position in March 2026, a decision aligned with President Bola Tinubu's political appointments.

Tuggar expressed a strong desire to serve and improve the welfare of the people of Bauchi, acknowledging the state's challenges, including poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and limited access to quality education and healthcare. He called on party members to unite and support the party's flagbearer, emphasizing that he would back whoever emerges as the candidate.

Tuggar outlined his plans to prioritize economic growth, support small and medium enterprises, enhance rural development, and improve market infrastructure. He also pledged to address youth unemployment, drug abuse, and ensure safety for farmers and traders.

Furthermore, he committed to improving education, vocational training, and access to affordable primary healthcare services.
