Ex-IG Mohammed Adamu Resigns from APC After Primary Loss

Mohammed Adamu, the former Inspector General of Police, officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his loss in the governorship primary election in Nasarawa State. Adamu submitted his resignation letter to the executive committee of the Makama Ward in Lafia on a Monday.

In his letter, he expressed that the recent developments within the party, particularly regarding the conduct of the governorship primary election, made it difficult for him to continue his political activities within the APC. He emphasized that the party's internal democracy, fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for aspirants did not align with the principles he strongly believes in.

Adamu's resignation was not taken lightly, as he acknowledged the relationships built during his membership. He also mentioned his intention to pursue political aspirations on a different platform.

Additionally, Moham Abubakar, the director general of the 2027 political movement, revealed that Adamu had shown interest in obtaining a governorship nomination form and was fully prepared to win the APC primary, despite the endorsement of Senator Ahm Wadada by the current governor.
