Ex-IGP Abba Joins PDP, Strengthens Political Alliances

Barrister Suleiman Abba, the former Inspector General of Police, has officially defected to the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He was received by Baba Sule Lamido, a prominent political figure, during a gathering that included various stakeholders and politicians from Jigawa, Kano, Bauchi, and Yobe states.

The event aimed to consolidate support for the PDP as it strategizes for the upcoming 2027 elections. Among the attendees was Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, who also participated in the political consultation.

The gathering served as a platform for Abba to strengthen the PDP's profile, particularly in Jigawa State, where he previously served as the head of the Nigeria Police Force. This move is expected to influence political dynamics in his home state, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) currently holds the governorship.
