Egbetokun's Management Team Remains in Service Amid Speculation

The management team of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun is still in service, as confirmed during a strategic meeting attended by the new IGP Olatunji Disu and senior police officials at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja. The meeting included Deputy Inspectors General of Police such as Frank Mba, Yahaya Abubakar, Basil Idgwu, Bzigu Kwazhi, Idri Abubakar, Adewol William, and Adeola Hamzat.

This situation has sparked speculation regarding the status of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), especially considering the typical retirement principles that follow the appointment of a new IGP. However, correspondence checks reveal that senior officers remain employed within the force, contrary to the directives from the Police Service Commission regarding the status of officers who joined the NPF under the previous IGP.
