Ex-Jigawa Lawmaker Abba Ana Adamu Dies After Ransom Paid

Abba Ana Adamu, a former member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and representative for Guri, Kirikasamma, and Birniwa Federal Constituency in Jigawa State, was kidnapped along with his political associate, Ali Tukur Gantsa, on the Kaduna-Abuja highway. Initially, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N200 million but later agreed to accept N50 million.

Despite the payment, Adamu's death was confirmed, and his body was located by his son. The incident has thrown the family, friends, and political associates of the late politician into mourning, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in Nigeria, particularly related to kidnapping for ransom.
