Former Reps Member Abba Ana Dies in Kidnappers' Custody

Abba Ana, a former member of the House of Representatives representing Guri, Kiri Kasamma, and Birniwa Federal Constituency from 2007 to 2011, died in the custody of terrorists after being kidnapped on the Kaduna-Abuja highway. The incident occurred last Wednesday while he was traveling from Kano to Abuja for political engagements.

He was abducted alongside another victim, Ali Tukur, during an attack on their bus. The kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of 200 million naira, but negotiations led to an agreement for the release of Ali Tukur after a ransom of 50 million naira was paid.

Ana's family reported that he suffered from asthma and hypertension and was denied access to medical care throughout the period of his captivity, which they believe worsened his condition. His death was confirmed through a Facebook post by fellow political associate Sabo Nakudu, who expressed condolences to Ana's family.

The Jigawa State Police Command had not received an official briefing on the incident at the time of the report.
