Yusuf Declares Candidacy for Kogi Reps Seat in 2027

Yusuf, the former Commissioner in Kogi State, declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing the Adavi Okehi Federal Constituency in the upcoming 2027 general elections. His announcement took place on Saturday during a formal unveiling at the Lgea Osisi Primary School field in Kogi State, where he addressed members of the Progress Congress APC.

Yusuf emphasized that his aspiration is driven by a desire to deliver effective representation and bring development closer to the people. He noted the importance of collaborating with relevant stakeholders to attract projects that would improve living conditions in the constituency.

Yusuf aims to build on the developmental strides made by Governor Usman Ahm Ododo, particularly within the Adavi Okehi Federal Constituency. He expressed confidence in his experience in public service as preparation for the challenges ahead.

Previously, he served as a Senior Special Assistant in the solid minerals sector and resigned from the cabinet in March 2026 to pursue his political ambitions, complying with electoral laws that mandate public officials to step down before seeking elected office.
