Supreme Court Confirms Oyebanji's Election as Governor

Former First Lady of Lagos State, Senator Fatimat Raji Rasaki, congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji on the Supreme Court's judgment affirming him as the validly elected governor. Rasaki, who previously represented the Ekiti Central Senatorial District, described the ruling as a victory for democracy and the rule of law.

The Supreme Court's unanimous decision, delivered on a Friday, concluded all legal disputes surrounding the June 20 governorship election, which had been challenged by Abimbola Olawumi of the African Democratic Congress. The Election Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal had previously dismissed Olawumi's petition.

Rasaki called for unity among political leaders, traditional rulers, and residents to support Oyebanji's administration and focus on the state's development. She praised Oyebanji for his leadership during the legal process and expressed confidence in his ability to lead Ekiti State to greater achievements.
