LPPC Elevates 68 Legal Practitioners to SAN Rank

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has approved the elevation of 68 legal practitioners to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) during its 174th plenary session held on Thursday, chaired by Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun. Among the successful candidates are Adebayo Adaralegbe, Adenrele Adegborioye, Alexander Nduka Muoka, and Adebayo Folorunsho Ologe, among others.

The only successful academic applicant is Prof Nnamdi Onyeka Obiaraeri. The LPPC stated that the SAN rank is conferred on practitioners who have shown exceptional distinction as advocates or in legal scholarship.

All approved candidates must attend a mandatory pre-swearing-in induction program before formal conferment, with the date to be announced later. The LPPC also cautioned against the publication of congratulatory messages or advertisements related to their nomination or conferment, warning that violations may lead to sanctions.
