Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya Elected NBA President

Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, was recently elected as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association, making her the second woman to lead the association and the first to be elected directly by its members. In an interview with TVC News, she attributed her success and that of her sister, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, to the values instilled by their parents and their upbringing on the University of Lagos campus.

Badejo-Okusanya emphasized that she and her siblings grew up in an environment that prioritized integrity, hard work, and excellence without the pressure to succeed. She noted that all four siblings have excelled in their respective professions, including a brother in the United States and a sister who is a dentist in the UK.

Their father, the late Prof. Olufolabi Olumide, was the first Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, and their mother, Clara Folasade Abiodun Olumide, was the first female Registrar of the University of Lagos. Badejo-Okusanya is set to assume office during the NBA Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt later this year.
