Gwarzo Withdraws Kano North Senate Bid, Backs Barau Jibrin

Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, the former Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, has officially withdrawn from the race for the Kano North senatorial seat for the 2027 general elections. He announced his decision in a statement issued on Tuesday, emphasizing that the move was made after extensive consultations with political stakeholders at national, state, and zonal levels.

Gwarzo's withdrawal aims to foster unity and strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the elections. He expressed gratitude for the support he received from various groups, including youth, women, and elders, throughout his campaign.

Gwarzo's decision was influenced by a meeting with key APC stakeholders in Kano North, including Governor Abba Yusuf and former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje. He endorsed Barau Jibrin, the current senator representing Kano North, as the consensus candidate for the upcoming elections.

Gwarzo reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and pledged to support the party's growth and electoral success.
