Uche Nnaji Engages in Settlement Talks Over Forgery Case

Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Science, Innovation, and Technology, is involved in out-of-court discussions concerning allegations of forgery related to his National Youth Service Corps certificate. The case was disclosed on Monday during proceedings presided over by Justice Hauwa Yilwa at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Nnaji had approached the court in October 2025 following an investigation by Premium Times. The allegations led to his resignation amid widespread controversy.

The court proceedings have faced delays due to procedural setbacks and preliminary objections filed by the defense. On Monday, Nnaji's counsel, Muritala, informed the court about the ongoing negotiations for an amicable resolution, leading to a request for adjournment.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for July 8, 2026. Nnaji's attempts to stop the release of alleged tampered academic records from the University of Nigeria Nsukka are also part of the case, with the defense arguing for the case's dismissal based on jurisdictional issues.
