Tuggar Declares Candidacy for Bauchi Governorship Race

Mohammed Tuggar, a former minister, has officially declared his intention to run for the governorship of Bauchi State. Speaking to a large crowd in the state capital, Tuggar highlighted the necessity for quality leadership to improve the lives of families and communities.

He warned that poor governance continues to hinder social and economic progress, expressing his understanding of the electorate's pain. Tuggar, who was elected in 2007 on the platform of the Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and represented the Gamawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, is contesting the governorship seat under the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

He previously lost to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Isa Yuguda in 2011. Tuggar emphasized the importance of unity and inclusivity in governance, pledging to protect minority communities and promote greater participation of women and vulnerable groups.

He called on the electorate to support his vision for integrated and responsible leadership.
