Ex-NASENI Boss Mohammad Haruna Enters Nasarawa Race

Mohammad Haruna, the former Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, has formally announced his candidacy for the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship race by purchasing the nomination form for the state's top office. Haruna, a member of the Progress Congress, expressed confidence in securing the party's ticket for the governorship primary scheduled for May 21, 2026.

During a meeting with local government ward coordinators in Nasarawa Eggon on Tuesday, he pledged to prioritize education, agriculture, infrastructure, health, and youth empowerment if elected. Haruna emphasized the importance of peace and unity in administration and the empowerment of youth and women.

He called for intensified mobilization ahead of the primaries and expressed gratitude for the support he has received across the 13 local government areas of the state. Suleiman Angbashim, the APC primary coordinator for Nasarawa Eggon LGA, also pledged support for Haruna's candidacy, highlighting the alignment of various support groups with his vision.
