Olateru Urges Aviation Stakeholders on Tech and Sustainability

Akin Olateru, the former Director-General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, addressed aviation stakeholders at the second induction ceremony of the Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame in Lagos. He emphasized the need for the industry to adapt to rapid technological advancements, changing passenger expectations, and sustainability pressures without compromising professionalism, leadership, innovation, and service.

Olateru stated that the aviation industry is evolving and highlighted the importance of the values represented by the inductees. He acknowledged the contributions of 18 Nigerians inducted into the Hall of Fame for their outstanding achievements in aviation.

Olateru described the honor as a recognition of excellence, service, integrity, and legacy. He encouraged young professionals to learn from the honorees' careers.

The ceremony, themed “The Next Generation of Aviation Leaders: Talent, Technology and Global Competitiveness,” aimed to celebrate those who have shaped Nigeria's aviation history. Wole Shadare, Co-Convener of NAHOF, stressed the importance of documenting the contributions of aviation pioneers for future generations.
