Lalong and Wase Discuss Peace Strategies with Tinubu

During a high-level engagement in Abuja, Simon Lalong, the Governor of Plateau State, and Wase presented strategies to improve security and peace in the state to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They highlighted the deteriorating security situation, marked by recent killings and the loss of 14 Nigerian Army personnel in Kanam.

Lalong emphasized the importance of collaboration among security agencies, particularly in intelligence sharing and joint operations. He proposed a closed-door meeting involving past and present leaders of the state to discuss solutions to recurring violence.

President Tinubu urged state leaders to learn from historical lessons to restore peace and create a secure environment for economic activities, particularly in mining and farming. He expressed concern over the continuous loss of innocent lives and challenged leaders to take decisive actions to end the cycle of violence in Plateau State.
