Jang Condemns Plateau Killings, Calls for State Police Action

Jonah Jang, the former governor of Plateau State, condemned the horrific killings that occurred in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, resulting in the loss of 28 lives. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Jang described the attack as a dark act and questioned the ongoing violence in the state, expressing condolences to the victims' families and wishing for the swift recovery of the injured.

He emphasized the need for proactive measures from security agencies to prevent such tragedies and criticized the current security structure, advocating for the creation of state police to empower governors in managing security more effectively. Jang commended President Bola Tinubu for addressing the issue of state police and urged for expedited processes to combat insecurity.

He called for unity among Plateau residents and appealed for calm and restraint among the youth during this difficult time, stressing the importance of collective action to protect the community from further violence.
