Ex-President Obasanjo's Daughter Declares Ogun Governorship Bid, Joins APC

Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, has officially announced her candidacy for the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State. She made her declaration during an interview with Nigerian football legend Segun Odegbami on 103.7FM Eagle Sport.

Iyabo Obasanjo, a former commissioner and senator in the state, has shifted her focus firmly towards the governorship race. She confirmed her recent membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and explained that her return to active politics was prompted by persistent calls for her support.

This move sets the stage for what is expected to be a keenly contested governorship race in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections.
